If you can’t wait to try the new design yourself, “You can get early access on your computer by downloading and logging into Twitter for iPhone or Twitter for Android,” according to the company’s official blog post. Otherwise, check out the video above or the screenshots below for a sneak peek of what’s in store.

India Asks Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo to censor Content

Executives from the Indian offices of Facebook, Google Microsoft and Yahoo are meeting with India’s telecommunications minister to follow up on earlier demands that those sites begin prescreening user-generated content from India. Mr. Sibal’s office confirmed that he would meet with Internet service providers Monday but did not provide more information about the content of the meeting.

About six weeks ago, Mr. Sibal called legal representatives from the top Internet service providers and Facebook into his New Delhi office, said one of the executives who was briefed on the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Sibal showed attendees a Facebook page that maligned the Congress Party’s president, Sonia Gandhi.  “This is unacceptable,” he told attendees, the executive said, and he asked them to find a way to monitor what is posted on their sites.

The executives said representatives from these companies will tell Mr. Sibal at the meeting on Monday that his demand is impossible, given the volume of user-generated content coming from India, and that they cannot be responsible for determining what is and isn’t defamatory or disparaging.

Yahoo, Facebook and Microsoft did not respond immediately to calls for comment, and a Google spokeswoman said the company had no comment on the issue. Facebook said earlier this year it has more than 25 million users in India. Google has over 100 million Internet users in India.

China, India embrace LTE tech for 4G networks

Posted by kunal on 7:51 AM comments (0)

China and India, the world's biggest mobile phone markets, are building fourth-generation (4G) networks based on the long-term evolution (LTE) technology although it will be years before it takes off as both countries are still ramping up 3G services.

Since Asia's first commercial LTE network went live in Hong Kong in November last year, there are only a handful of operators in other Asian countries such as Japan and Singapore that have launched commercial 4G networks.
Many more in the region -- including China Mobile Ltd, India's Reliance Industries Ltd and Bharti Airtel Ltd -- are building high-speed networks to cash in on growing demand for mobile data that promises to lift margins as voice services become increasingly commoditised.
"It is a cost-optimisation strategy that is quite clearly on a number of operators' radars, given this is a tough market where margins continue to remain under pressure," Nicole McCormick, a senior analyst at research firm Ovum, said on the sidelines of a mobile conference in Hong Kong.
LTE was a main focus at the conference, with China Mobile, the world's largest operator by subscribers, and China's No.2 telecommunications equipment maker ZTE Corp were presenting what they have to offer.
China and India were late in rolling out 3G networks, but are trying to catch up with Western peers in 4G rollouts.
Operators in both markets are planning networks based on the time division duplex (TDD) variant of LTE, which differs from frequency division duplex (FDD) technology used in many networks in the United States and Europe.
TD-LTE is gaining momentum, with the market for handsets, equipment and semiconductors totalling $98 billion from 2012 to 2016, said Goldman Sachs analyst Donald Lu.
Ovum projected that LTE would be used by 19 percent of mobile broadband users in Asia Pacific by 2016.
LOSING OUT ON IPHONE
For China Mobile, the adoption of 4G technology is key as it struggles with a 3G network based on a homegrown standard that is incompatible with popular devices such as Apple Inc's popular iPhone.
Apple had promised to make an TD-LTE-compatible iPhone when its next-generation model came out, China Mobile said last month.
China Mobile had conducted a first-phase trial of TD-LTE with 850 base stations in six cities, and expected to complete the next phase of tests by June next year, executives said.
"With the growing popularity of mobile Internet and smart devices, data consumption is increasing at an explosive speed ... under such a situation, the need to speed up the commercialisation of LTE is more compelling," said China Mobile Executive Vice-President Li Zhengmao.
In India, all eyes are on Reliance Industries, the country's most valuable company.
Reliance made a dramatic return to the telecoms sector by buying Infotel Broadband, the sole winner of bandwidth in all of India's 22 zones in a state auction last year, and is expected to launch services on the TD-LTE platform next year.
Indian media reports have said Reliance will also launch cheaper LTE-compatible tablets.
"We are hopeful that before the end of this (fiscal) year, we'll have some commercial activity," said Bharti Airtel Chief Executive for India and South Asia Sanjay Kapoor of the planned LTE launch.
Hong Kong's CSL Ltd, a unit of Australia's Telstra Corp, was the first operator in Asia to launch a commercial 4G network in November last year, followed by Japan's NTT DoCoMo Inc last December.
In South Korea, top mobile carrier SK Telecom Co Ltd and smaller rival LG Uplus Corp launched commercial LTE services in some parts of the country in July. SK Telecom said on Tuesday that it planned to deploy LTE networks nationwide by April next year, eight months ahead of schedule, hoping to boost sales with faster services.
3G USERS STILL FEW
China launched 3G services in 2009, while Indian mobile operators rolled out 3G just this year. Pick up has been slower than expected so far, and planned 4G buildouts may put further pressure on carriers. In China, only 10 percent of 939.5 subscribers use 3G, while in India, the level is less than 2 percent of 866 million subscribers.
"The markets are still very much in 3G ramp-up mode. 4G is one big step away," said an analyst in Hong Kong, who declined to be named.
Another hurdle for the growth of LTE is a lack of compatible smartphones, but industry executives are optimistic of wider availability of such devices.
"Major smartphone makers like HTC Corp and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, maybe 50 percent of their advanced smartphones next year will be LTE compatible," said Goldman analyst Donald Lu at the conference.

iMessage – A BlackBerry Messenger Killer?

Posted by kunal on 3:16 AM comments (0)

Fans of Instant Messaging, rejoice, as iOS 5 will come with its very own instant messenger. The new messenger, called iMessage, is clearly targeted at RIM’s BlackBerry Messenger, and will work over both 3G and WiFi.
According to Apple, iMessage will bring the functionality of iPhone messaging to all iOS devices, and will be built directly into the Messages app. iMessage will offer much more than instant messaging, as it will allow users to also send messages, photos, videos, or contact information to other iOS 5 users – all using encrypted connections, to please IT organizations of Apple’s corporate customers.
Just like like BlackBerry Messenger, iMessage supports delivery and read receipts, and typing indication, to let you know if/when the person you are chatting with has received your message and if he/she is typing back. But iMessage offers one additional feature over its BlackBerry counterpart: iMessage is aware of which device you are using, and messages are automatically pushed to the correct device. For instance, a conversation started on an iPad can be continued on an iPhone if necessary.
                                                    iMessage App
If successful, the app will help Apple ‘lock in’ its customers – especially enterprise customers – on its own instant messaging network, just like what RIM did with BlackBerry Messenger. In other words, Apple is again going after RIM, and will use iMessage as a Trojan horse to sell more iPhones and iPads to IT organizations across the globe.
We’re sincerely hoping that iMessage will also be compatible with open Instant Messaging networks, such as Google Talk, just like the Mail app is able to pull messages from Gmail natively – otherwise, we’re not convinced that another ‘closed garden’ instant messaging network would add much value to non-corporate iOS devices users.

I'm More Than Just An Option...

I`m very confused as dis is my 1st article on a blog. So I decided to
write sumthing that had occupied vry Imp place in my heart & it alwayz will.
Even though we don't talk anymore, I will never forget our memories. I
want to cherish that past beautiful moments.
"1st dates are awkward. 1st kisses are heavenly. 1st loves
 irreplaceable. 1st heartbreaks are unforgettable."
She was perfect, beautiful & flawless. Long thick brown hair. She
wasn’t perfect & I was fooled.
She isn't supposed to be like those other gals. She's better than
them. Or so i thought.
When we first met I just knew I had found the girl  of my dreams. She
was gorgeous. It never quite hit me that she was too good to be true
until I found out otherwise.I made her my sun and my world revolved
around her.
Love isn't something you choose, It's something that takes over you

Since we first got together she had male friends and why shouldnt she?
She was a grown independent girl and I trusted her. Even though we
didnt hold hands in the street and when i said 'I love you' her reply
was 'I know u do'. So what she had missed a couple of dates or didnt
answer her phone some nights. I mean she had to have a life too. It
was okay she missed my birthday twice and I was the only one who was
very excited abt everything may it b her b`day or valentie`s day. I
loved her.
I heard that my frnd was dating her. How could he be in love with the
girl who loved me. I mean she never said it but I knew she did. She
had to as much as I loved her. Thats when I realized I had been in
love by myself.
Things went downhill after that. I never spoke of the incident but it
consumed me and made me open my eyes to just how much she didnt care,
She still never said I love u. I still never met any of her friends. I
still was playing the fool. Eventually i called her up one day to tell
her it was over and all she said was 'okay'. I never heard from her
again.

I was devastated. Hurt because the girl I loved and was faithful to
never saw me in the same way. Mad she let me believe I was the only
one recieving her affection. Feeling stupid for making her my all and
i was just some guy she was seeing. But I had learned a hard lesson.
Never give more then u recieve.
